While completing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) majoring in psychology at the University of Auckland, Katie volunteered for and then worked within a research study team on the topic of recovering from stroke. She met her first occupational therapist, and after a year working following the completion of her BSc went back to study a Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapy) at AUT. Since the days of the stroke study Katie has been interested in neurorehabilitation and is part of the ACC concussion service at Axis Sports Medicine Specialists.
Outside of work, you can find Katie in the garden trying to coax vegetables to grow, fishing with her family, or exploring the local bush walks.
