We aim to get you back to being active, enjoying life, and not dislocating your shoulder again.
In many cases dislocated shoulders can be accurately diagnosed and treated by a physio. Our experienced team can see you promptly (Generally within a few days) diagnose your injury, and set in place a rehabilitation programme to get you back to injury free.
In some cases, dislocated shoulders can require a co-ordinated approach to treatment, which is where we can bring in our sport and exercise physicians, surgeons and radiology partners.
We have a dedicated Shoulder Pain Clinic up and running in Auckland and Christchurch, where you will receive fast access, a prompt definitive diagnosis, pain relief (if necessary) and a tailored treatment plan to get you back to doing what you love. Our effective treatment can reduce the likelihood of future dislocations. Doesn’t that sound great?
To be eligible for our shoulder pain clinic you must have been referred with:
In some cases, shoulder injuries do require surgery, whether that’s a minor procedure or major surgery. Luckily, we have strong relationships with a number of leading surgeons.

In many cases, a dislocated shoulder qualifies for an integrated care pathway (sometimes referred to as Careway), meaning your treatment (including all physiotherapy, surgery, Sport and Exercise Physician consultations and radiology scans) will be completely covered by ACC.

All patients must first be diagnosed and assessed before being placed on the integrated pathway. Generally speaking, however, if you have suffered a dislocated shoulder, you have a good chance of qualifying.
