Back pain or sciatica?

Often, we find back issues have been poorly managed and that many patients have had months, if not years, of ongoing symptoms or short-term fixes and not long-term solutions.

By coming to Axis, our physiotherapists and doctors will work collaboratively to diagnose your back issue accurately. Once we’ve nailed that, we’ve seen great results from a course of physiotherapy and exercise.

Physiotherapy

Our experienced team can see you promptly (Generally within a few days) diagnose your injury and set in place a rehabilitation programme to get you back to injury free.

Understanding your problem, managing your symptoms and progressing a strength-based rehabilitation program are key strategies.

In some cases, more serious back issues can require a coordinated approach to diagnosis and treatment, which is where we can bring in our Sport and Exercise Physicians, Orthopaedic Surgeons and radiology partners.

Orthopaedic Surgery

Some back injuries do require surgery, whether that’s a minor procedure or major surgery. Luckily, we have strong relationships with a number of leading surgeons.

Talk to our team about referral options for your injury.

Integrated Care

In some cases back injuries (such as sciatica) qualifiy for an integrated care pathway (sometimes referred to as Careway), meaning your treatment (including all physiotherapy, surgery, Sport and Exercise Physician consultations and radiology scans) will be completely covered by ACC.

Do I qualify?

All patients must first be diagnosed and assessed before being placed on the integrated pathway.
