Matthew is a New Zealand-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hand, Wrist, and Peripheral Nerve Surgery.  Born and raised in New Zealand, he completed his medical training at the University of Auckland in 2012.  He completed his Orthopaedic surgical training in New Zealand in 2023, graduating as the recipient of the prestigious President's Award for the top-performing trainee.  He subsequently undertook subspecialty fellowship training at Gold Coast University Hospital, Australia, and Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong.  He has expertise in the arthroscopic and open management of hand and wrist pathologies, including acute and chronic injuries, arthritis, and peripheral nerve conditions.

In addition to his private practice, Matthew holds a position as an Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon at North Shore Hospital, where he contributes to surgical education and the training of the next generation of surgeons. He is an active member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association (NZOA), and the New Zealand Society for Surgery of the Hand (NZSSH).


Matthew is known for his meticulous approach and commitment to delivering patient-centred care within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.  His goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for each and every patient he treats.


Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, and maintains an active lifestyle with a love of the outdoors.
