Caroline is a Sports and Urgent Care Doctor. She returns to Axis in 2022 after a one-year Fellowship at High Performance Sport New Zealand during which time she travelled to the Tokyo Olympics with the NZ Sailing team. Since graduating from the University of Auckland Medical School in 2008 she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Medicine with merit in 2014 and her Urgent Care specialist fellowship in 2020. She has published research in sports-related concussion.

Caroline splits her time between work as a Sport and Exercise Medicine Registrar at Axis Sports Medicine Specialists and as an Urgent Care specialist at White Cross.

She has worked with a wide range of teams and sports including being Olympic Doctor for the NZ Sailing team in 2021, Lead Tournament Physician for the 2019 ASB Classic Women’s Tennis tournament, and Medical Director for the 2020 Rotorua Half Ironman. She has also cared for the Great Britain and Black Sticks hockey teams, Black Ferns Women’s Rugby, Auckland Mitre 10 Cup Men’s Rugby, Auckland Farah Palmer Cup Women’s Rugby, NZ Warriors Reserves, Roosters NRL 9s, NZ Women’s and Breakers Basketball and the New Zealand Surf Life Saving Team.

Previously an elite hockey player she spent nearly 15 years in New Zealand Hockey age-group and Black Sticks Squads, played nine seasons of New Zealand Hockey League and one in the English Hockey League, giving her a unique understanding of athlete’s needs.

A mother of two young boys, Caroline is passionate about women’s health and female athletes and enjoys delivering high quality care and empowering her patients to improve their outcomes through exercise.
