Sport and Exercise Physician
Brendan is a Sport and Exercise Physician at Axis. After completing his medical studies he spent four years as a Medical Officer in the NZ Army, doing two tours of duty to East Timor. Since that time he has worked exclusively in sports medicine and been involved in a wide range of sports teams and events.
He is the current Medical Director for Canoe Racing New Zealand and Medical Director for both the Heineken and ASB Classic Tennis Open Tournaments in Auckland. Previously, he has been the Medical Director for BikeNZ and Netball NZ, and the team doctor for the Counties ITM Cup rugby team.
Brendan is also involved with Sports Medicine education and is a member of the board for the Australasian College of Sports Physicians and Sport NZ.
A very keen cyclist and part-time triathlete (when his Achilles tendons allow him to run) Brendan has a strong interest in cycling biomechanics and performance. He dreams of challenging Tony for the Most Outrageous Shoes award!
